removing portlets that are not needed

Hi!

i have a question?
   
Is it possible to safely remove portlets that are not needed to administer WebSphere Portal v6.1 through a Web browser? And which are those portlets?
I found article with the same question on this link:

My question is if  there is any difference for 6.1 because this article is refering to v6.0

excuse me in advance if it's a stupid question but i'm new to this.
